What's Wrong, Gregory?

I'm finishing up Gregory Maguire's book, A Lion Among Men, the third in the Wicked trilogy, and I'm just simply uninterested. The first two? Golden! This one? Bleh. I still drool over his poetic writing -- I swear he could make anything sound beautiful -- but flipping pages in this book is like pulling teeth. Each book fills in the same formula: The main character travels all over Oz to find some purpose in life. The earlier were so exciting, fun, and seemed to reference familiar names and places more often. I had such high hopes for the Cowardly Lion's adventures.  Ah well, onto a new book.

  1. I just read a painful book as well. I wont say what it was for fear of the mobs of people who would attack me. I can't believe I actively sat through 400 pages!
